the women who create opportunity for others, who find motivation in being underestimated, challenge assumptions, and show up for other women.
meet kate harris, teresa reed and christine balaguer. three powerhouses we admire. whose grit speak volumes for the spirit of international women's day.
the power of being underestimated
kate harris, creative director & designer at NES boutique, was 25 when she was told she "wasn't ready." she became a national retail leader anyway. "I quietly said to myself, 'just you watch me,'" she recalls. "I've never taken no as a final answer - only as fuel to work harder, back myself, and lead with belief."

christine balaguer has faced this her entire career - as a deaf woman working in media, modelling and advocacy. "being underestimated can become an advantage," she says. "it gives you the space to surprise people and redefine expectations."

more than a day
international women's day is about generosity - a celebration of achievement. it's something we strive to do everyday with the women around us. And it's something we've built into the fabric of this brand through partnerships with women who break stereotypes and provide help to those who need it.
creating opportunities
"women over 55 are likely to have 40% less superannuation than their male counterparts - and they're the fastest growing group of people experiencing homelessness in australia." teresa reed has dedicated most of her working life to the public sector.

the forgotten women is focused on longterm solutions - and they do so without government funding. they are working tirelessly on solutions to ensure people are not forced to relocate away from the places and people they know.
their stories remain invisible. this organisation shows up consistently and quietly.

kate puts it plainly: "supporting other women has made me braver and more accountable. it has also softened me. business can be tough, especially in fashion, but the relationships I've built with other women have carried me through the harder seasons. I don't see women as competition - I see them as proof that it's possible."
zoe kratzmann remains committed to supporting the forgotten women and the work being done to address women's homelessness in australia - and we're honoured to be connected to incredibly women through work, fashion, charity and friendship.
