zoe kratzmann believes that fashion is not just about what we wear but also about how we impact the world around us. our latest initiative goes beyond the studio and into the heart of our community. we had the privilege of spending the day building vegetable gardens with our formal partner the forgotten women, a not-for-profit housing initiative helping homeless women over the age of 55 gain access to safe, fit-for-purpose and long-term housing.
the vision: more than just plants
our journey began with a simple idea: to create a space that would not only provide fresh produce but also serve as a source of empowerment and hope for the women residing at the forgotten women’s temporary housing accommodation. we envisioned a garden where they could reconnect with nature, learn new skills, and take pride in nurturing something from the ground up.
the journey: rolling up our sleeves
on a sunny thursday morning, our team gathered at the accommodation, armed with gardening tools, plants, soil, and a whole lot of enthusiasm. the day was filled with laughter, learning, and a fair amount of dirt. from shoveling the soil to planting seedlings, everyone pitched in to make the garden a reality.
we had the pleasure of working side by side with the women staying at the temporary supported accommodation. their generosity, wisdom, energy and optimism is truly inspiring. we shared gardening tips, discussed the benefits of various vegetables, and listened as the women shared their lived experiences. to round out the day, we enjoyed a lunch with the forgotten women team and residents in the communal kitchen.
sowing seeds of change
our commitment to this project doesn’t end with the completion of the garden. we are actively involved in supporting the organisation’s needs, including donating $1 from every online order and regular donations of clothing and footwear.
join us: get involved
if you’re inspired by our garden project and want to make a difference, we encourage you to consider getting involved with the forgotten women. your time, resources, or skills can have a profound impact on those in need.
