where are you from?

i have lived in sydney my whole life and moved to brisbane a few years ago as i was working as interior designer for a large company and moved to join the design team in brisbane to pursue my career, i had never even been to brisbane before and moved here for my career but now i have fallen in love with the place.

tell us about you

i am a creative, a massive foodie, a lover of the ocean, a single mumma to a beautiful girl name indigo, i have a passion for self development and women empowerment and i run two business, she creates.co which is an interior design studio and the pink bungalow which is a pink house that is used as a photoshoot & events space.

i have always been super creative since a young age, when i was a little girl my mum would get mad as i was constantly moving around the furniture in our family home. i knew i had a passion for interiors from a young age, i even wrote it on my year 6 graduation papers that i wanted to be an interior designer when i grew up.

when i am in creating spaces i feel in total alignment and in my happy place. my goal is to create spaces to enhance peoples lives and make them feel empowered.

have you always wanted to design spaces?

as soon as i left school i went straight into design college and started studying design, i then moved onto specialising in studying commercial interior design. whilst studying i worked in other industries, i actually completed a traineeship in the council’s economic development unit doing business, events & marketing which i think i have definitely incorporated into my work today. i also have had a lot of experience in the hospitality industry, i have been a barista and funny fact i used to be a children’s party host.

if you weren’t running she creates co, what would we find you doing?

i would still be finding away to get creative, i have so many passions and ideas. i have always wanted to get into videography i just love how capturing film can be. i am also super passionate about business and have always had an entrepreneurial spirit, constantly thinking of ideas for myself and my friends on what they could do so maybe even a creative business coach? i’m sure i would be on some kind of business adventure. i know i would have to be flipping houses on the weekend to get my passion for interiors out of my system though!

have any mentors/muses inspired your work?

yes i have an amazing mentor at the moment called pru from the owners collective.

women you look up to?

i admire sophia amoruso who wrote one of my favourite books “girl boss” this book gave me the initial push to go into business on my own and she is just a total girl boss love everything she is about.

my mum, if it wasn’t for her i wouldn’t be half the person i am now. she is the reason the pink bungalow exists and she has always taught me to be kind and follow my heart, no matter how crazy my ideas have been.
